Our G6300 John Guest Speedfit Fittings are recommended for use with polyethylene, nylon, polyurethane, and other plastic tubing as well as soft metals such as brass and copper. Please note, when using these fittings with soft durometer tubing such as PVC, we recommend using tube inserts. These fittings are not recommended for hard or chrome plated metal tubing, eXplosive gases, fuels, or central heating or in-floor radiant heating. To attach these fittings, cut the tubing square and remove burrs and sharp edges that may damage the o-ring. Make sure the end of the tube is free of score marks than may cause leak paths. For very soft tubing or hot water systems, use a tube insert. Push the tube into and up to the stop and then pull the fitting back to make sure it is secure before testing the system. To release the fittings, release the system pressure and then push the collet back squarely against the fitting body and remove the tubing.
